Experience Details

Embark on an immersive journey as a Dive Against Debris® Diver with 5 nights of adventure staying in our dormitory, complete with breakfast and lunch. This transformative experience invites you to take direct action for the ocean, collecting critical survey data during every dive. As a certified diver, your role extends beyond exploration – you become a guardian of marine ecosystems.

Pre-Requisites: To join this impactful initiative, a minimum certification of PADI Junior Open Water Diver (or equivalent), PADI Freediver, or PADI Advanced Mermaid is required. The minimum age requirement is 10 years old.

Dive Against Debris Specialty Certification: Upon completion of the Dive Against Debris course, you'll earn a specialty certification. This course counts as an adventure dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Course, enriching your diving repertoire with invaluable skills.

Why Become a Dive Against Debris Diver? By joining this movement, you contribute to the largest global underwater database, aiding marine researchers and policymakers in conservation efforts. Your efforts directly support the goal of reducing marine debris by 50% in targeted countries by 2030.

How to Get Certified: Visit your local PADI Dive Center to enroll in the Dive Against Debris Specialty course. This standardized Adventure Dive allows you to obtain your Advanced Open Water Certification and Dive Against Debris certification simultaneously. Create a My Ocean profile to submit marine debris data after your dives and download the Survey Toolkit for survey success.

Join the Movement: Participate in Dive Against Debris surveys near you, locateable through the Conservation Activities Locator. Upon reporting your survey data through your My Ocean profile, it enters a global database, contributing to the development and implementation of policies worldwide aimed at improving solid waste management.

Take the Plunge: Get ready to make waves as a Dive Against Debris Diver! Dive in, explore, and contribute to the preservation of our precious marine environments. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for our oceans.
